Chamber members support bond referendum
Last fall, the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce (DACC) Board created a goal to identify and research the impact various community initiatives have on local businesses. Taskforces were created to explore issues on a variety of topics including commercial property taxes and recreational facility access.

In line with this goal, the DACC Board invited "2 From You," the group bringing the bond referendum to the polls in September, to the August board meeting.

September Wii play days at library
Decorah Public Library will host three free drop-in gaming sessions for youths ages 7-14 in September. Sessions are Tuesday afternoons from 3 until 4:45 p.m. Sept. 7, 21 and 28.

NICC hosting 'Scratch Beginnings' author, speaker Sept. 28
Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) will host author and speaker Adam Shepard Sept. 28, at the college's Calmar campus. Shepard will speak about his experiences and debut book, "Scratch Beginnings: Me, $25, and the Search for the American Dream."
