Decorah Head Girls Soccer Coach Julie Shockey has resigned after ten years of leading the program.
Under Shockey’s guidance, the Vikings qualified for the regional final twice and had three academic all-state athletes.
“I appreciate the effort and work of our student-athletes and coaches in the girls soccer program during the last ten years. It has been a pleasure to work with these young people and see them grow as athletes and people,” said Shockey. “I would like to thank the school district and the community for all of their support and look forward to seeing continued growth of the girls soccer program in the years to come.”
Activities Director Adam Riley stated, “On behalf of the Decorah School District, I would like to thank Coach Shockey for her dedication to the students of Decorah High School during the past ten years and look forward to her continued support for the girls soccer program.”
Shockey’s replacement hasn’t been announced yet.
