Scott Zafft is the week nine winner of the pigskin picks football contest.

Zafft, Decorah, was the only person to miss just two games on the week, earning him first place for the first time this year.

Eli Lyon of Decorah garnered second place. He missed three games and was five points from the tiebreaker. Taking third place was Pat Lien. The Decorah resident missed three games and was six points from the tiebreaker.

The highest point total went to Kansas State, scoring 49 points on Texas Tech. Several people correctly guessed the tiebreaker number: Cara Sand, Decorah; Lyle Huinker, Fort Atkinson; Keith, Katherine and Michael Bruening, Decorah; Rosanne Wicks, Waukon; Richard Weis, Decorah; and Tom Edie, Decorah.

Most commonly missed games were Nebraska stunning Michigan, Kansas State over Texas Tech, Green Bay falling to Philadelphia, Virginia Tech upsetting Miami (Fla.) and UNI getting back on a winning streak over Youngstown State.
