Oct. 1 - It's 19 in a row for the Class 3A No. 2 Decorah football team as the Vikes turned Friday night's game into a clinic, defeating Class 3A No. 10 West Delaware 41-13. Mikhail Suvorov rushed 14 times for 117 yards. The defense was led by Holt Johansen with five solo and four assisted stops.

The Decorah swim team 200-yard freestyle relay of Katie Hagensick, Monica Tappe, Taylor Martinek and Katelyn Yee combined to take sixth in 1:46.41 at the Cougar Invite. Martinek took seventh in the 100-yard backstroke.

The South Winn volleyball team finished third overall at the Decorah Invite. They knocked off Decorah 2-0, Postville 2-0 and MFL 2-0.



Oct. 3 - It was another victory for the Turkey Valley volleyball team as the Trojans took care of Central 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-19). Ashley Kurash served 18-for-19 with two aces and 15 assists while Arianna Rausch served 16-17 with four aces and 10 digs.

Luther athletes and siblings Brock and Elly Arend were named athletes of the week by the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Elly was named the female athlete of the week while Brock was named the men's soccer offensive player of the week.

The Turkey Valley boys cross country team finished third at the Jesup Invite. Ryan Izer finished eighth overall while Steven Landa was 16yh. For the girls, Sadie Nymeyer came in 13th.
