With one more tournament before the Upper Iowa Conference meet Saturday, the South Winn wrestling team traveled to Alburnett for a dual tournament.

Thursday's double dual with MFL, Central and Ed-Co was moved to Monday (Jan. 27).

Saturday the Warriors finished 2-2. They picked up wins over English Valley 42-24 and Monticello 36-24. They also lost to Class 1A No. 1 Alburnett 66-18 and Iowa Valley 45-30.

"We went 2-2 at the Alburnett duals. We had some issues right away in the beginning of the day and didn't feel like we were ready to wrestle," said Coach Jacob Elsbernd. "As a team, we stressed the importance of being mentally and physically prepared for each match, and I thought we did a better job towards the end of the tournament. Hopefully the kids will learn from this and we can build off of today as we get ready for the conference tournament."
