It was a night for area golf enthusiasts to get out and enjoy Monday at Silver Springs Golf Course in Ossian as the South Winn boys and girls golf teams hosted Turkey Valley.

In the end, it was South Winn that got the edge in both meets, with the boys winning 151 to 199 and the SW girls winning 206 to 237.



Sweeping honors

In the boys match, South Winn's Trevor Schweinefus took the medal with a low-36. Logan Schweinefus earned the runner-up spot with a 37. Tanner Kuennen's 38 and Blaine Woodson's 40 rounded out the varsity scoring. The JV posted a 173. Scores were collected from Tanner Mashek, 42; Allen Anderson, 42; Blake Kuennen, 44; and Nathan Winter, 45.

The South Winn girls also swept the medal spots. Caitlen Holien took first place with a 50 while Megan Bushman earned the runner-up spot, also with a 50. Megan Hageman's 52 and Eleanor Lofte's 54 contributed to the team score of 206.
