The defense on display by the South Winn girls basketball team (4-3, 4-1 UIC) was the difference maker Monday night at home against Kee (3-4 1-4 UIC), as the Warriors went on for the 46-27 victory.

The two teams played close in the first eight minutes, with South Winn taking the 10-7 advantage. However, the Warriors pulled away in the second, with 11 points to Kee's one. At the half, the Warriors led 21-8. It was another big frame for South Winn in the third, outscoring the Hawks by 11 to extend the lead to 40-16. The Hawks found a little bit of an answer in the fourth by scoring 11 points.
