The South Winn baseball team (3-0) is on a roll.
The Warriors won the first three games of the season.

Home opener
Friday the Warriors hosted Wapsie Valley (0-4) in the first contest of 2014.
It was a 7-0 victory. The Warriors struck for a run in the first, then six in the fifth.
Jordan Rommes was the winning pitcher. He threw all seven innings, allowing just two hits and striking out nine.
The home team had seven hits. Rommes had the only extra-base hit, with a double. Ryan Hageman, Tyler Numedahl and Brendan Hageman all had two RBI.
“With a depleted pitching staff this weekend due to state golf, Jordan gave us exactly what we needed. He was dominant and efficient from the first pitch. When he consistently throws strike one like he did, he is very tough to hit because then his secondary stuff can take over and keep guys guessing and off-balance. It was encouraging to see him get off to a good start this evening,” said Coach Ben Obermann. “Offensively, I thought we were a little anxious early in the game, which is to be expected with the first game of the year. We were a little uncharacteristic in how we chased up and out of the zone. Finally, in the fifth inning we were able to relax and get back to our disciplined approaches, which led to our big inning. I was encouraged by the fact seven different hitters recorded a hit and am very pleased how we had continuous hitting with two outs, as all six runs in the fifth came with two outs.”
