The South Winn softball team (2-3, 3-1 UIC) split two conference games last week.
The Warriors were nearing the end of their first game at the Crestwood tournament Saturday when the rain began to fall. The tournament was cancelled, so the game with Saint Ansgar went unfinished.
Thursday the Warriors hosted Clayton Ridge (6-3, 5-1 UIC). In the first game, the Eagles were on fire offensively, putting up 11 runs to win 11-1.
South Winn’s lone run came in the bottom of the first. The Eagles scored two in the second, one in the third and fourth and then seven in the seventh to get the win.
The Warriors had just three hits, all singles. Abby Hageman, Jenna Elsbernd and Savannah Nesvik all had hits. Kendal Kuboushek scored the only run, with Courtney Humpal getting the RBI.
