With the opportunity to play multiple players Friday night, the Class 1A No. 9 South Winn football team (7-2, 5-1 district) walloped Jesup 68-6 in the final game of the regular season.



The Warriors earned the No. 2 seed out of District 4 and will face District 3 No. 3 seed South Hamilton (6-3) in the first round of the playoffs, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Running all over

The ground game was on display Friday night as the Warriors rushed for over 400 yards.

It all started with Christian Kleve going 11 yards for the first score. Quarterback Logan Schweinefus kept the two-point play, giving the Warriors an 8-0 lead early in the first. Ryan Hageman scored his first touchdown of the game next, rushing 38 yards for the score. He added a 37-yard score in the second.

Schweinefus threw for four touchdowns. He hit Rommes for 5 yards in the first and for 59 yards in the second. Carson Lensing was the recipient of two Schweinefus TDs, the first a 19-yard toss in the second and an 8-yard throw in the third. Kleve scored in the second while Tyler Numedahl and Jared Schroeder each had running TDs in the fourth.
