Three second-half interceptions and a stifling defense pushed the Class 1A No. 9 South Winn football team (9-2) past No. 2 Dike-New Hartford (10-1) 36-17 Monday night in the second round of the playoffs.

The Warriors scored 30 unanswered points in the second half to knock off the undefeated Wolverines.

Down 17-6 at the halftime break, the Warriors took their first possession of the half and went 61 yards on a Logan Schweinefus to Alex Shatek TD catch, making it 17-14.

They took the lead for good in the fourth quarter when Jordan Rommes drove in. From there, the Warriors had picks from Darrik Poshusta, Rommes and Adam Lensing.

The Warriors will get a rematch with North Fayette Valley (10-1) Friday, Nov. 8, in the quarterfinals, with the game in West Union at 7 p.m.
