The South Winn softball team (5-4, 5-1 UIC) picked up two conference wins to start the week.
Monday the Trojans hosted Postville (0-9, 0-8 UIC). It was an easy game one, with the Warriors winning 20-2. The Warriors were up 5-2 when the offense exploded late in the game. They put up five runs in the sixth and 10 in the seventh.
In the second game, the Warriors won 13-1 in three innings. This time they scored three in the first, two in the second and eight in the third to get the early victory.
No individual stats were available as of press time.
Tuesday the Warriors fell at home to Waukon (5-7) 7-2. No stats were available.
The Warriors did get one game in at the Crestwood tournament Saturday. They fell to Saint Ansgar (5-3) 4-0 before the rain began to fall, ending the game in five innings. St. Ansgar got a run in the second, two in the third and one in the fourth to get the win. South Winn had just two hits – singles by Abby Hageman and Skyler Luzum.
Brittany Shindelar took the loss. She gave up seven hits and two earned runs.
