The South Winn boys basketball team (12-6, 11-3 UIC) split its two games this weekend, falling to North Fayette Valley and defeating Starmont.



Road loss

Thursday the Warriors lost to their eventual first of the playoff opponent North Fayette Valley (8-10, 7-4 UIC) 71-76.

The Warriors took a 20-19 lead after the first quarter and extended the lead by six at the half, 46-39. However, the TigersHawks outscored the Warriors 22-14 in the fourth to lead by one, 61-60. They outscored the visitors 15-11 in the final eight minutes.

Trevor Schweinefus went off for 28 points. Jordan Rommes added 17, along with four assists and four steals. Andre Walz pulled down seven boards.
