In an offensive battle between two close teams, it was the South Winn boys basketball team (1-1, 1-0 UIC) that emerged on top, defeating Turkey Valley (0-1, 0-1 UIC) 61-57.

Both teams came out firing in the first. With the Warriors up 8-7, they scored six points to end the quarter up 14-7. Moving to the second, the Warriors built the lead to 21-9 early in the frame. They doubled up on the Trojans to make it 28-12 before the Trojans scored the final eight points of the quarter to make it 28-20 at the half.

In the third, the Warriors kept the pedal to the medal, keeping the lead in double figures most of the way. However, the Trojans again came back firing at the end. A Ryan Busta three, followed by a three by Ethan Throndson, made it 39-34. The Trojans added three more points to cut the lead to 41-37 with eight minutes remaining.

The Warriors struggled at the free throw line in the fourth, allowing the Trojans to stick around. However, TV wasn't able to break through to get the win.
