The offense was alive Monday night for the South Winn softball team (2-1, 2-0 UIC) as the Warriors pounded Starmont (0-4, 0-4 UIC) for two conference wins.
In the first contest the Warriors pounded 12 hits on the way to a 13-2 win in five innings. South Winn struck first with three runs in the first, then added a run in the second. Things gelled in the fifth when the team scored nine runs. Starmont managed just two in the bottom half of the inning, giving the Warriors the easy win.
Kendal Kuboushek was hot at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored. In the lead-off spot, Abby Hageman went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Brittany Shindelar was 2-for-4 with two RBI while Courtney Humpal had two hits and two runs scored. Savannah Nesvik was 2-for-3 with a run and three RBI.
