Looking to pick up a big conference win on the road, the South Winn girls basketball team (10-4, 9-2 UIC) did just that, defeating MFL (8-7, 7-5 UIC) 47-32 Friday night.

The Warriors held MFL to just five points in the first quarter while going ahead 15-5. In the second, MFL came back, outscoring South Winn by four to make it 24-18 at the halftime break. It was all South Winn in the second half, with the defense putting up outstanding numbers by limiting MFL to just 14 points in 16 minutes of play.

The Warriors were led by Jenn Panos. The senior had 14 points on the night. Payton Poshusta just missed double figures with nine. Jessica Lensing added eight while Brittany Shindelar had six.
