It was a battle of one strong offense versus another Monday night in Calmar in the Class 1A second round tournament match-up.

In the end, District 3 No. 2 seed Aplington-Parkersburg's high octane running game wore down the District 4 No. 1 seed South Winn defense first in the 49-22 AP victory.

South Winn ends the year 9-2 overall while Aplington-Parkersburg (9-2) moves on to get a rematch with District 3 No. 1 seed Dike-New Hartford (11-0) in the quarterfinals.

"This was a great run. Our kids played the best they could," said SW Coach Jason Ohrt.
