The stage is set for the South Winn softball team to have a big season.

With eight returning letter winners, the Warriors have the experience and desire to go far in the state tournament this season.

Leading the way is Head Coach Jeff Krueger. Krueger has led the team for three seasons.



Making the most of 2012

The Warriors came into the season with a nearly intact line-up. They went 15-3 through the Upper Iowa Conference season, finishing second overall.

In the first round of tournament action, the Warriors hosted Turkey Valley, winning 11-1. The season came up an unfortunately and all-too-soon end as SW fell at Sumner-Fredericksburg 5-2. The loss ended the season with a 24-11 record.

As a team, the Warriors hit .286 with a .351 on-base percentage and a .439 slugging average. They scored 271 runs on 307 hits, with 75 doubles, 10 triples, 23 home runs and 96 stolen bases.
