The South Winn wrestling team faced some stiff competition Thursday night in West Union as the Warriors took on North Fayette and Sumner-Fredericksburg in a triangular.

The Warriors fell to North Fayette 50-24 and Sumner-Fred 62-9.

Two Warriors survived the night undefeated. Against Corey Beeken of North Fayette, Daniel Lechtenberg, wrestling at 170 pounds, pinned the Hawks in 34 seconds. Moving to 160 pounds against Sumner-Fred's Derrick Lenz, Lechtenberg threw Lenz in 3:18.

Chris Brincks, who is ranked No. 10 at 195 pounds in Class 1A, won by forfeit against North Fayette. Wrestling at 182 pounds against Sumner-Fred's Derek Kohlmeyer, Brincks won a 2-0 decision.

Also picking up wins against North Fayette were Luis Uribe (132), Ben Meyer (160) and Ethan Kipp (220).
