With near perfect conditions, the stage was set for the Upper Iowa Conference golf meet, held Monday at Big Rock Golf Course in Fayette.

In the boys race, it came down to just four strokes; however, those four strokes gave the win to Sumner-Fred, who shot a 310. South Winn took second with 314 strokes. Turkey Valley was eighth with 398.

The girls title went to Class 1A No. 1 Valley. The Tigers roared to a 374, the only team under 400 strokes. South Winn came in fourth with 427 while Turkey Valley took seventh with 481 strokes.

In total, six athletes from South Winn earned all-conference honors. All-conference is awarded to the top-15 linksters in each gender.
