The Class 3A No. 1 Decorah football team (9-0, 6-0) has finished the season undefeated after defeating Epworth 37-14 Friday night at home.

With the win, the Vikings earn the No. 1 seed in District 5 and the district crown. Decorah will host Maquoketa (5-4, 3-3) in the first round of the playoffs Wednesday, Oct. 24. Maquoketa defeated Clear Creek-Amana 14-7 Friday to advance.

Decorah got on the board first with a Josh Lee field goal. The damage was done in the second when Jacob Kvale scored the first touchdown of the game on a 2-yard run. Kvale hooked up with Holt Johansen for a wide open 36-yard pass to put Decorah up 16-0.
