Playing Oelwein three times in a little over 24 hours, the Decorah softball team was a perfect 3-for-3, improving its record to 7-11 overall and 3-6 in the NEIC.
Monday the Vikings hosted Oelwein in a JV/varsity double header. In the varsity game, seven runs in the second inning paced the Vikings to an 11-1 victory.
The bats were alive with 13 hits, with eight players producing at least one hit. Tori Hartman was 3-for-4 with two triples, two RBIs and two runs scored. Chelsey Twait had two solo home runs, driving in two and scoring two runs. Emily Krueger had a double and a single, with two runs scored. Jenna Iverson had a single and drove in two.
Lexi Shelton got the win. In five innings she allowed one earned runs on three hits while striking out nine.
