The Decorah softball team (15-17, 8-10 NEIC) concluded the regular season Monday by defeating Crestwood (20-9, 13-5 NEIC) 5-4 at home.
The Vikings finished the conference season in fourth place overall. Waverly-Shell Rock was the NEIC champ with a 17-1 mark.
Decorah now moves to the playoffs, where it’s win and move on or lose and go home. The first round battle is with Western Dubuque (18-21) in Farley tonight, Thursday, July 10, at 7 p.m. The winner faces West Delaware (28-6) Saturday, July 12, at 7 p.m. in Manchester. The regional final is Tuesday, July 15, at 7 p.m. in Manchester.
