The Decorah softball team (14-17, 7-10 NEIC) is looking to gain momentum before the postseason begins, getting two conference victories.

Falling short
Wednesday, the Vikings hosted MFL (20-17), falling 8-3.
The teams battled back and forth, with the game tied 3-3 after two innings. However, the Bulldogs broke away in the fourth, scoring one and adding four in the seventh.
Decorah scattered nine hits. Payton Hjerleid had three of them, including a triple, and drove in two. Becca Alcock had a two hits. Maddy Ihde, Tess Olinger, Shelby Stalberger and Chelsey Twait all had one hit. Annika Vande Krol threw six innings, taking the loss. Hjerleid completed the game.
