Facing Cedar Rapids Xavier (1-0) in the first home game of the season, the Decorah girls basketball team (1-1, 0-0 NEIC), struggled to find a shooting stroke, falling 39-55 Tuesday night.
The Vikings fell behind to start the game 2-8 before battling back to tie the contest, still in the first. The Saints came back late in the quarter, taking a 16-10 lead. That lead expanded in the second quarter as the Vikings struggled to hit a shot. At the half, it was 35-16 Saints.
