A slow second half hurt the Decorah boys basketball team (7-8, 3-6 NEIC) as the Vikings fell on the road to Crestwood (12-4, 6-2 NEIC) 63-49 Tuesday night.

The game was close at the start, with the Cadets taking a 12-16 lead after the first quarter. Decorah struggled in the second frame, scoring just three points in the first four minutes to fall behind 15-24. At the half, it was 23-35.

Decorah again struggled to score to start the third, posting just five points to start the frame. With just eight minutes to go, it was 49-34 Cadets.

The Vikes were led by Drake Schuring with 15 points. Holt Johansen added nine while James Lange posted seven.



Decorah hosts Waverly-Shell Rock Friday, Feb. 7, at 8 p.m. following the varsity girls game. Saturday they host Caledonia at 6 p.m.
