The Decorah girls track team opened the outdoor portion of the season Tuesday, competing at the Dubuque Senior women’s track meet.
The Vikings finished second in team standings with 82 points. Dubuque Wahlert won the meet with 90.5 points.
Decorah had three events finish in first. Alexis Hove was the fastest girl in the 200-meter dash. Running half a lap around the track, Hove had a time of 27.66, winning by over half a second.
The other individual winner was Kassie Hoyme. The junior captured the shot put title with a throw of 38 feet, 10.5 inches, winning by an inch.
Amanda Taylor, Katie Perez, Linnea Kephart and Taylor Schuring broke the tape in the 4x800 relay. The quartet had a time of 10:04.06, winning by nearly five seconds.
