There was no lack of offense for the Decorah girls soccer team Monday as the Vikings (2-2) defeated Waterloo East 10-0 at home.
The game was called in the first half due to the mercy rule.
“I got all the girls in to play which was nice to get everyone a chance,” said Coach Kyrie Jorgenson. “The girls got the job done, and they know now that they need to step it up for the upcoming games.”
Seven athletes got a goal in the back of the net. It all started when Lauren Bruneau found Anja Arend for a goal less than five minutes into the game. Two minutes later Jen Jenkins scored, assisted by Stef Bjerke. S. Bjerke scored at the 8:25 mark, assisted by Lindsay Smith. Arend scored her second goal of the game at 9:40, assisted by Jenkins.
