The Decorah boys basketball team (6-6, 2-4 NEIC) split two games over the weekend, winning its conference game and falling on the road.

The three-point shot told the story Friday night as the Vikes defeated Waukon (5-7, 2-3 NEIC) 71-48 at home.

Decorah hit eight shots from behind the arc.

The game started close, with Decorah leading 18-13 after the first break. Decorah began to pull away in the second frame as the treys kept falling, with Decorah up 39-30.

The Decorah defense limited the Indians to just eight points in the third quarter while the offense put up 13 to lead 52-38.

"We played well as a team on both ends," said Coach Jonathan Carlson. "We need to build off this win."
