Following three wins to conclude the week, the Decorah baseball team (8-6, 4-3 NEIC) now has a winning record overall and in the Northeast Iowa Conference.

Wednesday afternoon the Vikings traveled to Waterloo to take on East Waterloo (5-10). Ten hits and several free passes played a large role in the 18-7 victory in the first game.
Decorah put up five in the first, three in the second, just one in the third and nine runs in the fourth to end the game early.
They had 10 hits. Dustin Cary was a monster at the plate. He had a two-run double in the first, a three-run home run in the second, a bases-loaded walk in the third and a two-run double in the fourth, for three hits, three runs scored and eight RBI. Chris Hartman had a double, a run scored and three RBI. Jake Hovden scored three times while Cole Svestka had two hits and three runs scored.
Kyle Kane was back on the mound for the first time since his concussion suffered Friday, June 6, at Crestwood. He went three innings, giving up five runs total (three earned) on four hits. Eric Syverson threw the final two innings.
