Battling a team just ahead of them in conference standings, the Decorah girls basketball team (3-9, 2-5 NEIC) took advantage and picked up its second victory of the year, defeating Charles City 58-46.

The road victory gives Decorah just its second conference win of the year.

Decorah put together a good first quarter, keeping pace with the Comets. At the end of the first, Decorah trailed 12-13. In the second frame, the offense continued to hum, posting 14 points. However, the Comets put up 16 to go ahead 29-26.

The third quarter saw the Vikes fall behind by as much as 37-30 halfway through before they struck back, cutting it to two points at 41-39 with a minute to go and eventually tying it at 41 with eight minutes to go.
