Looking to find some consistency, the Decorah girls golf team traveled to Waukon Friday.
In the end, the Indians came out on top with 224 strokes. Decorah shot a 242.
The varsity co-medalists were Ali Ashbacher and Chelsey Stamper, both from Waukon, with 55s.
Decorah's best score came from Alexa Lensing. The freshman shot a 56. Mary Murphy was right behind her with a 57.
Other varsity scores were Talia Raddatz, 61; Alison Schwartzhoff, 68; Ashley Gulrud, 70; and Courtney Robinson, 71.
The JV girls shot a 271. Waukon carved out a 261.
Decorah scores were Chloe Gossling, 63; Melanie Gossman, 66; McKenzie Snyder, 66; Autumn DeLong, 76; Bailey Hughes, 79; and Annalise Johnson, 84.
"We have been plagued lately by the one or two bad holes. If this were a best seven out of nine holes game, we'd be stronger. However, it is not," said Coach Scott Pierce. "We just need to become more consistent."
The Vikings hosted Class 4A No. 1 Charles City Monday. They also host Winona (Minn.) Friday in an 18-hole meet Friday, beginning at 2 p.m.
