After leading at halftime Tuesday, the Decorah girls basketball team (3-6, 1-2 NEIC) fell at home to New Hampton (5-3, 1-2 NEIC) 40-51.

Senior Alexis Hove provided a spark for the Vikings to start the game. With New Hampton hitting some shots early, Decorah drove into the paint late in the first, getting the Chickasaws into foul trouble. They used solid free throw shooting to take a 16-11 lead at the end of the first. The Vikes continued to pressure the Chickasaws in the second, going to the line for several shots. At the break, it was 23-20 home team.
