The regular season came to an end for the Decorah boys basketball team Tuesday night as the Vikings fell at Class 3A No. 5 Waverly-Shell Rock (18-3, 10-2 NEIC) 64-42.

The Vikings concluded the conference season 4-8 in the Northeast Iowa Conference and 10-11 overall.

They will face Waukon (8-12, 4-7 NEIC) in the first round of the playoffs Monday, Feb. 24, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Cresco in the district semifinal.

Decorah started Tuesday night's game strong, scoring the first points of the game. At the end of the first, the Vikings trailed 15-13.
