The Class 3A No. 5 Decorah boys golf team continued its winning ways Tuesday, defeating Charles City and Waukon at Silvercrest Golf Course.
Decorah shot a 149 to get the win. Waukon fired a 188 while Charles City had a 190.
"It was great having three scores in the 30s with two of them even par," commented Coach Rich Gaard. "I am proud of how the whole team has continued to improve."
Bryce Pierce and Michael Peter shared the medalist honors with even par 36s. Sam Sacquitne had a 37, Eric Fulsaas a 40, Peter Kephart a 41 and Tyler Hovey a 45.
The JV teams also won. The Decorah red had a 174, the Decorah blue a 186, Charles City a 207 and Waukon a 222. Medalist of the JV blue team was Tyler Barth with a 41. Other red team scores were Derek Weis, 42; Connor Gossman, 45; Reid Drenth, 46; Reese Drenth, 46; and Joe Knoke, 46. Medalist of the blue team was Matt Schissel with a 40. Other scores were Devon Jostand, 48; Avery Brand, 49; Micheal Foster, 55; Bryce Lensing, 56; and Jeremy Jostand, 63.
The white team had a 194. Medalist was Cole Steffan with a 44. Other scores were Caleb Chyle, 47; Shelby White, 56; Mitch Fadness, 57; Rjis Nesset, 58; and Cole Horgen, 61.
The Vikings are at Waverly-Shell Rock today, Thursday, May 2. Monday they host Crestwood at Oneota.
