It was a perfect way to end the home track season Monday as the Vikings hosted the Decorah Invite.
The Vikes won the meet with 174 points. Osage took second with 101 while South Winn was a close third with 82 points.
South Winn came home with five gold medals, with three from relays and two from field events.
The speedsters won two of the first-place spots. Jared Schroeder, Ben Meyer, Alex Shatek and Jordan Rommes combined in the 4x200 to win the event in 1:34.67, winning by over one second.
Three of those four were a part of the winning distance medley relay. This time it was Schroeder, Rommes, B. Meyer and Devin Franzen that shared the victory. They easily took care of the competition, winning with a time of 3:46.79, a victory by nearly 11 seconds.
The Warriors again proved speed is their power when they took to the oval in the 4x100 relay. In 45.51 seconds, Schroeder, Treyton Jacobsen, Shatek and Rommes sprinted to a victory.
Two individuals also topped the field. B. Meyer leapt 20 feet, 8 inches to take the long jump title, a win by over a foot.
Chris Brincks claimed the high jump title. The senior cleared 5 feet, 10 inches.
