It's a good start to the season for the Decorah volleyball team (1-0) as the Vikes defeated Saint Ansgar 3-1 last Tuesday night Decorah.
The Vikes won by scores of 25-16, 25-16, 19-25, 25-20.
Teeya Hovden provided 20 digs and served 11-for-11 with two aces. Alexis Hove had 10 assists and served 13-for-13. At the libero, Maria Hoyme had 13 digs. Kaitlyn Kregel served 14-for-15 with four aces. She also provided eight kills and 19 attack attempts.
Tess Olinger led the way at the net with 11 kills. Ruth Ann Sutton had six kills and 20 attack attempts.
As a team they had 32 kills, 30 assists, 21 digs and 14 total blocks. They served 60-for-63 with 10 aces.
The Vikings host Waukon tonight, Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 7:15 p.m.
