The Decorah volleyball team had a tough road to travel Monday night in the Class 4A regional quarterfinals, going to Manchester to face No. 8 West Delaware.

Although they put up a strong front, the Vikes couldn't keep pace with the Hawks, falling 0-3 (18-25, 14-25, 22-25).

The Vikes end the year 11-25 overall. West Delaware improves to 29-11 and will face Vinton-Shellsburg in the semifinals.

"I was very pleased with the way we competed against West Delaware," said Coach Dale Wilharm. "We had talked going into the match that we needed to take some risks in some areas if we were going to up our game against them, and we did just that."
