The Decorah volleyball team (2-5, 1-1 NEIC) faced a tall task Tuesday night when it hosted Class 4A No. 7 Charles City (14-2, 2-0 NEIC).

Although the Vikes played Charles City close in the first game, they fell 0-3 (18-25, 10-25, 9-25).

"I thought we competed hard with a very good Charles City team the first two sets, but they are so quick offensively that we had trouble getting to our coverages defensively," said Coach Dale Wilharm.

As a team, Decorah had 15 kills, 47 attack attempts, 11 assists, 22 digs, two total blocks and served 30-for-36 with one ace.
