The Decorah girls golf team traveled to New Hampton to compete in the Northeast Iowa Conference meet, competing on the par-72 course.

It was a show put on by Class 4A No. 1 Charles City, firing a 336, the only team under 400 strokes. New Hampton came in second with a 405. Decorah fashioned a 496, good for seventh.

Medalist honors went to three-time state champion Class 4A No. 1 Jessie Sindlinger, who burned the course for a 75 (40-35).

Decorah was led by Talia Raddatz, who shot a 118 (59-59). Other scores were Alexa Lensing (60-60=120); Courtney Robinson (58-65=123); Chloe Gossling (64-71=135); Mary Murphy (75-70=145); Gabi Cowie (77-74=152).

"We have been playing better lately, but we did not play well today. That happens in golf once in awhile," said Coach Scott Pierce. "The weather was fantastic, but only Charles City managed a team score under 400."
