After two tough conference losses, the Decorah softball team (6-13, 2-8 NEIC)) rebounded with two wins at the Waverly-Shell Rock tournament Saturday.

Wednesday night
Wednesday the Vikings traveled to New Hampton (10-9, 5-5 NEIC), falling 9-3. Decorah was up 3-2 after the first inning, but the Chickasaws scored five in the third and two in the fifth.
Decorah managed just four hits. Chelsey Twait had a triple and drove in two runs. Kassie Hoyme pounded a double and drove in a run. Jenna Iverson and Shelby Stalberger both had singles and scored a run.
Annika Vande Krol started the game, giving up six earned runs on 11 hits. Elle Shelton finished the contest.
“We came out and attacked them in the first hitting. We had four total hits, including a double and a triple for three runs. But unfortunately, our luck changed, and we didn’t have a hit fall for the rest of the game. Then we had a couple miscues on defense which put of on our heels for a few innings as well,” said Coach Teri Olson.
