The Class 3A No. 2 Decorah football team (11-0) had to dig deep Monday night to defeat Maquoketa (7-4) 40-24 in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs.
The Vikes, who were without Jake Hovden for much of the night and Holt Johansen due to a broken foot, trailed 7-0 after the first quarter and were down 10-7 in the second quarter.
However, five touchdowns in the final 25 minutes of the game gave the Vikes their 25th win in a row.
Decorah next faces Solon (10-1) Friday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. at home. Solon knocked off West Delaware 49-20 in the second round.
