The Decorah boys soccer team is ready to start the postseason.
The Vikes will take a 6-5 overall record and 2-2 against ranked opposition into the tournament, following a 3-0 last week.
The Vikes defeated Waverly-Shell Rock 1-0, Postville 2-0 and most recently, West Delaware 4-1, all last week.
"In Decorah's most recent game against West Delaware, both Josh Lee and Noah Klammer scored their first goals in Viking uniforms to give Decorah a win, and ultimately a winning regular season record," said Coach David Keller. "Josh Lee scored the first goal for the Vikings in the first half (assisted by Blake Klein), and though Decorah was the better team, the scoreline was tied at half. That changed almost immediately in the second half, with Jakob Frueh, Josh Lee and Noah Klammer all scoring goals to give Decorah a comfortable 4-1 victory."
The Vikes will play the winner of Independence and Vnton-Shellsburg Wednesday, May 22, at home at 5 p.m. in the first postseason match. The winner will play in the substate finals Saturday, May 25, at Dubuque Wahlert.
