The Decorah softball team (9-13, 5-8) picked up two conference victories last week, sweeping Waukon.

They also lost two Waverly-Shell Rock twice. The Decorah Tournament was cancelled due to rain.



Sweep at Waukon

Wednesday night the Vikings hosted Waukon (9-13, 3-8 NEIC) for a double header. In the first game the Vikings won 6-1. They scored two in the first two innings, then added a run in the fourth and sixth.

Decorah had eight hits. Chelsey Twait had three hits, including a home run, and two RBIs. Lexi Shelton had two hits while Lindsay Smith and Tori Hartman scored two runs. Hartman threw seven innings, getting the win.

In the second game the Vikes won 7-6. Decorah led 5-3 heading into the seven. Waukon took the lead by scoring three runs to make it 6-5 Waukon. However, Decorah scored two in the bottom of the seventh.
