After one day of play, the Class 3A Decorah boys golf team is in fourth place at the state golf meet, held in Ames.

The Vikes shot a 329 the first day. Clear Lake is in first with a 320. Creston/O-M is in second with a 323 while Williamsburg is third with 328.

Trevor Green of Central Clinton-DeWitt and Dane Waldron of Clear Lake are leading the way by firing 76s.

Decorah is led by Michael Peter, who is tied for eighth with an 80.

Other Decorah scores are Sam Sacquitne, 82; Peter Kephart, 83; Bryce Pierce, 84; Tyler Hovey, 84; and Eric Fulsaas, 89.

South Winn's Trevor Schweinefus is competing as an individual at the Class 2A state tournament. The junior is tied for 22nd overall after firing a 83. The lead score a 75.

Play concludes for both Decorah and South Winn Saturday.
