The win streak came to an end Friday night for the Decorah football team as the Vikings fell to Solon 20-28 in the Class 3A quarterfinals.

Solon (11-1) moves on to face Washington (11-1) Thursday in the semifinals.

Decorah ends the year 11-1, snapping a 25-game win streak.

Solon struck first Friday night, scoring on a 12-yard pass. Decorah answered in the second, with Bryce Pierce scoring on a 2-yard scamper. The point-after failed, preserving Solon's 7-6 lead. The Spartans added another TD late in the second.

The Spartans added a score in the third to go up 21-6.

Decorah cut the lead to 21-13 on a Pierce to Kyle Kane 12-yard pass, but Solon again answered. Pierce and Kane connected for a 62-yard bomb to make it 28-20 with three minutes remaining.

Decorah had one last chance to come back, but Jacob Black intercepted a pass at the Solon 9 to end the game.
