The Decorah girls basketball team (3-10, 1-4 NEIC) came up just short Friday night at Waukon, falling to the Indians (4-6, 2-4 NEIC) 49-53.

Saturday's contest with South Winn was moved to Thursday, Feb. 13, due to South Winn needing to schedule a conference game.

Friday the Vikings took an early lead on the home team, which was celebrating its 2004 state championship team. Decorah fell behind 6-1 early in the game before coming back to take a 15-14 first quarter advantage. Waukon tied the game at 19-all midway through the second. However, Decorah continued to battle and went into the half up 25-24.
