With six matches in three days, the Decorah volleyball team (4-9, 1-2 NEIC) picked up two wins.
Opportunities were there Thursday for the Decorah volleyball team (2-6, 1-2 NEIC) to get a win; however, they just couldn't get over the hump, falling to Oelwein 1-3 (15-25, 26-28, 25-23, 15-25).
"After getting down early to Oelwein, we had our opportunities in the second set to tie the match up after being down in the set," said Coach Dale Wilharm. "We played well enough in the third set to pull within one set, but we couldn't find the consistency in the fourth set that we had in the third."
Decorah had 48 kills and 107 attack attempts (a .234 kill efficiency percentage), 36 assists, 30 digs, 10 total blocks and served 71-for-82 with five aces.
Teeya Hovden had 15 assists and served 22-for-22. Alexis Hove made 13 assists and served 10-for-13. Tess Olinger had 11 kills, 23 attack attempts and three total blocks. Kaitlyn Kregel and Kassie Hoyme both had 11 kills.
