Following the Christmas break, the Decorah wrestling team got back on the mats Friday, traveling to West Delaware.

The Vikes fell to the Class 2A No. 5 Hawks 28-47.

Decorah picked up five wins. At 106 pounds, Joe Knoke pinned Austin Howell in 1:42. Devin Stortz (120) grabbed an 8-2 decision over Logan Reilly. Following an injury, Class 3A No. 8 Kellan O'Shea started 2014 strong, defeating Reilly Ryan by a 16-5 major decision at 145 pounds. At 195 pounds, Sean Trewin pinned Scott Taylor in 1:26. Carter Zidlicky, competing at 220 pounds, pulled out a 12-10 win over Will Wenger. Class 3A No. 4 Austin Ashbacher needed just 1:15 to pin Colin Weber at heavyweight.
