A year of experience should hopefully benefit the South Winn boys basketball team.

After going through a merry-go-round of coaches, Head Coach Chris Streeter is back for his second year on the bench. He will be assisted by Joel Hageman.

Putting it together

Streeter took over the program last year. The team had 14 members looking to get over the hump and prove to be a force in the Upper Iowa Conference.

The Warriors struggled to find consistency throughout the season. They ended the conference portion of the year 8-7 overall, good for fifth.

In the first round of the playoffs, the Warriors had a chance against Clayton Ridge before watching the Eagles pull away 78-64. South Winn ended the season 9-12 overall.

As a team they hit 468-of-1,129 shots for a 41.5 percent clip from the field. They scored 1,180 points, averaging 56.2 a game. On defense they allowed 1,274.

The Warriors pulled down 692 rebounds (33.0 a game), along with 264 assists, 209 steals and 85 blocks.

Graduated

The Warriors had two seniors last year. Isaac Taylor contributed 4.5 points a game, along with 2.0 rebounds, 29 total assists and 16 steals.

Eric Albertson led the team in assists with 59. He also had 25 steals, along with 4.4 points and 2.5 rebounds.
